Sometimes, you can just tell that a kid is going to do big things with her life. Even at a super young age, she’s already more bold than you are despite your tolerance for spicy foods. She bursts into song with no warning, and it seems as though she’s making up the melody and lyrics as she goes. Her dance moves are courageous and totally ridiculous, but it’s the best because she is totally and completely herself.
Maisy is that little girl.
Just under two years old, this girl is my role model, my spirit animal. She doesn’t have a care in the world what others think of her. During our Carmel Highlands Garrapata State Park Family Session with this beautiful family, Maisy couldn’t help but break out into song and dance. Singing and dancing makes her happy, and she ain’t afraid to show it. She’s curious, adventurous, brave. All things I aspire to be in my life and hope that my daughter will aspire to as well. Her siblings are just are bright and cheerful—they, too, are full of joy and laughter, even though one of them is still a baby.
It’s a testament to their parents’ hearts and commitment to raising their children. Jennifer and Joe are the sweetest pair who’ve made some of the cutest stinking babies we’ve ever seen! And if Maisy’s incredible personality wasn’t enough, her blonde curls are just to die for! Just wait until you see how they glow in their Carmel Highlands Garrapata State Park Family Session.
Jennifer & Joe: your family is so so sweet, and we are so thankful to have been your Carmel photographers. Any excuse to get down to those Carmel-by-the-Sea cerulean waters (and away from the Bay Area heat)! Your adventurous hearts show not just in your marriage but in the beautiful kids you are raising. They are stunning people inside and out, and we can’t wait to see Maisy on American Idol some day!

The weather cooperated and gave us beautiful golden light for this young family’s portrait session.
