Stormy Capitola Session
We had just parked the car. The weather was supposed to cooperate all day. But just as we arrived, the clouds rolled in. And it HAILED. For a good long while, too! Not exactly the kind of weather we might want for this stormy Capitola family session. We weren’t sure it was going to let up!
Once the hail lightened up to a soft sprinkle, we decided we’d grab our umbrellas and our gear and head down to our stormy Capitola family session with our dear friends. And just moments before we were about to call it quits, the sun broke through the clouds and gave us some spectacular skies just in time for some beautiful beach family photos.
And it just so happened that these beach family photos were extra special for this beautiful family—Jesse and Valerie got engaged on this beach. They did their beach engagement pictures here. Valerie’s family owns a beach house along the water here. And they even spent their honeymoon here. And now that they’ve welcomed baby Maelan into the world, their first family photos just had to be Capitola family photos!
Jesse & Valerie: We are so incredibly happy for both of you! We’ve walked a lot of life with you two in the last few years, and it is such a blessing to us to see you both become parents. And you look amazing doing it! We are praying that you would always put each other first so that Maelan will always know how loved and cared for he is. We can’t wait for your next family session!

With the colorful Capitola Venetian pueblo style homes to the rustic pier to the luscious green cliffside, there isn’t a bad view in sight for a beach family session or beach engagement session. BEACH ENGAGEMENT SESSION
There are several beaches along our corner of the coast that we love for beach family photos or even beach engagement photos! We particularly loved the Texer family’s beach family photos at Seabright State Beach! And their kiddos! So cute!
