She happened to say yes one night. Yes to finally going to young adults group. Heather’s friend invited her out on a Wednesday. And everything changed. That night, she met the man she would one day call her fiancé. But it took some time before they went on their first date. And Kade didn’t even realize they were on a date! We heard all about it at their redwoods engagement photos.

Once they became friends, they happened to start seeing each other at work. Heather is a teacher and Kade used to work as a substitute teacher. And so many of Heather’s friends told her that they were pretty sure he had a crush on her. And after they had been dating for a little while, Kade realized that she was the one he wanted to marry. Once he realized that, he knew he would have married her the day they met. He opened up to us at their redwoods engagement photos.

This engagement session is especially special for us. I (Angela) have known Kade since we were very young. In fact, we might say we’ve known each other pretty much our whole lives! And to get to photograph his redwoods engagement photos was an incredible gift. Because we grew up together and our families had been close, it was so exciting when they inquired to have us photograph their Santa Cruz wedding!

Kade and Heather chose a deeply personal location for their redwoods engagement photos. The Forest of Nisene Marks named a picnic area after Kade’s grandfather who used to own some land there.
