At the beginning of 2020, we set some goals for ourselves. Goals for wedding photography, for business growth, for personal development, for creative expression. Just goals upon goals upon goals. A few months ago, we attended a luxury wedding details flatlay workshop taught by Ashley Baumgartner, and GIRL was it fun!
If you don’t know what wedding flatlays are, you’re about to become OBSESSED. We’ve been photographing wedding details through wedding flatlays for years, but we’re only now studying the science of photographing luxury wedding details on wedding flatlays. Ashley taught us so much about how to photograph wedding details, and we have so many pretty luxury wedding details photos to show you because of it!
We were so excited to bring all this amazing new knowledge for our 2020 brides to all our California weddings this year, but we have to wait just a little bit longer. So in the meantime, we’ve been practicing more and more at home. We can’t wait to show you all the beautiful wedding flatlays we’ve been playing with at home!

LEVEL UP YOUR FLATLAYS WORKSHOP WITH ASHLEY BAUMGARTNER
These gorgeous luxury wedding details were all provided by our sweet friend and fellow wedding photographer, Ashley Baumgartner. Hosted by our friend Denise Apgar Photography, Ashley Baumgartner coached us on the science side of photographing wedding flatlays and then worked with us one-on-one during as we practiced creating wedding flatlays. LUXURY WEDDING DETAILS
This workshop wouldn’t have been possible without all the amazing luxury wedding details provided by these talented artists. We had the honor of photographing the most beautiful, luxurious bridal heels from Bella Belle Shoes. Seriously, we dream of owning a pair of these babies. All florals were sourced and provided by Florals by Alana Marie, and GIRL her ranunculus and dahlias are bringing us life. The gorgeous styling surfaces are hand painted canvases designed and created by Suzy Pierce Art, and we just got our own set of surfaces! We also used surfaces and styling blocks from Heirloom Bindery. Included in our styling kit are beautiful velvet ring boxes from The Mrs Box, and Little Bird Paper Company provided the hand drawn letter press invitations… YES PLEASE!
