That’s the word that comes to mind as I approach the fall season, the end of Daylight Saving Time, and cozy cuddles with Michael while we binge watch Chuck on Hulu. I think the average person—especially in California—just adores long summer days in swimsuits, sandals and sunglasses at barbecue after barbecue. The hotter, the better. Afternoons spent by the ocean surrounded by scores of beachgoers and tourists who have only dreamed of those pacific sunsets everyone talks about.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the beach. I love the ocean so very much and Capitola is probably my most beloved happy place. But I HATE the heat. If I can’t wear a sweater and a beanie, it’s a sad day for me. As soon as it starts heating up in May, I’m counting down the days until November because that means the warm fall colors are coming in while the temperature creeps down into the 40’s and I can stop making my hair look nice and just throw a beanie on. And it means portrait sessions in Morgan Hill are in full swing!
October hasn’t quite cooled down just yet, which meant that Miss Natalie’s Morgan Hill senior portrait session called for a beautiful sundress and perfect golden curls and gorgeous make up by the wonderful Kali Cantu. This Morgan Hill senior portrait session was a big celebration of years of sacrifice—braces. I had braces in middle school, and I’m so thankful that my parents encouraged me to stick with it and follow the directions because my teeth are straight and so healthy! And you, Natalie, are in the awesome club of braces-veterans who love their smiles! It shows so wonderfully in all of your pictures how much JOY you really have. It’s infectious.
I’m proud of you, girl. You’ve worked hard to get to where you are and your life is only just beginning. There’s so much ahead of you, and I can’t wait to walk with you through all of it with some more portraits of that beautiful face of yours along the way.
Check out some of my favorites from Natalie’s Morgan Hill senior portrait session and let me know what you think in the comments below!!
