A girls’ trip to Hawaii was all Marissa needed to inspire her to search for love again. And one serendipitous event after the other led to her discovering the man of her dreams. Just a few hours away from home, too! Without her courage and Steve’s obvious caliber of character, these Downtown Sacramento Engagement photos may never have happened.

It’s possible these two may never have met without a little push from the universe. So you see Steve was living in Sacramento and Marissa’s home base was the Bay Area. They spent the first several weeks really just building a friendship without being in the same room. And when they finally did get together, the love story just wrote itself. When we were taking their Downtown Sacramento Engagement Photos they told us all about how Steve proposed. So picture it: a weekend getaway to Oregon. He wanted to be sneaky and film the proposal. But he unknowingly timed his kneel right when Marissa was in the bathroom! They laughed so hard that he almost forgot to actually ask. Until Marissa said, “Are you even going to ask me!?”

This was our first time getting to travel out for a Northern California engagement session. Marissa & Steve chose the best locations. So we started our session at the UC Davis Arboretum which gave us fairytale vibes for sure. Then we wrapped our session at Tower Bridge for these Downtown Sacramento Engagement Photos. And the sun came out just in time!

The talented Marie (bride’s close friend) made sure Marissa had pro hair and makeup for this session. And Steve picked out the most stunning engagement ring from Tacori.
