The week leading up to October 15, 2016, was certainly a week of thinking on our feet. With just days before the wedding, so many last minute hurdles kept popping up… including something completely out of our control.
The rain.
Somehow, every little piece came together. God worked every detail into something more beautiful than the bride and groom could have imagined. When the day finally came, neither of them were the least bit concerned about the little things. Both of them were just completely happy and excited to finally be married after months of planning.
I had the fabulous privilege of picking up the blushing bride for her hair appointment and got to follow her around all morning. The ladies got ready at a friend’s house tucked away in the back hills of Morgan Hill, CA, and the guys got ready right next door. While the girls spent their morning sipping mimosas and snacking on veggies and crackers, the guys were chowing down on In-N-Out and watching the college football game. Meanwhile, the venue was being set up and the cake, food and flowers were being delivered. It was truly a team effort!
My favorite moment from the day was when Jonathan finally got to see his Mrs. Higgins walk through the gate. He had been a tearful mess for awhile at that point, but it was so clear that he had never been more complete than in that moment. And Shelly walked gracefully into her redwood forest wedding with the rain coming down and not a care in the world with her father by her side every step of the way.
And when it was time for their bride and groom portraits, the rain let up for an hour so we could get some epic shots with the fog rolling in and the vineyard fresh and bright. It was dreamy to say the least with the gorgeous natural light, huge redwood trees, rows and rows of vineyard and all around life of the venue. It made for perfect, light and airy photos.
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Higgins! Your love is evident and Jesus will use you to make the other a stronger and more loving person. Love you!
Give our vendors some love and enjoy some of my favorites from the day below!
