What do you get when you marry a home fitness coach to a correctional officer? You get Emily and Nick, two spunky and adorably in love young adults who are starting their family this November. I met these two earlier this year through my good friend Bri Childs (an amazing wedding planner here in the Bay Area), and they became two of my favorite people almost right away. We spent two hours talking about Morgan Hill, their fall 2017 wedding, whether Baby Maier is a girl or a boy, how academy graduation was only a few weeks away, and all kinds of stuff. It didn’t take long for us to become friends.
Emily loves the rolling hills of Morgan Hill. She saw some of my favorite Morgan Hill portrait sessions at the Coyote Creek Trail like Lauren and Brad’s Morgan Hill portrait session. That iconic bridge plus some really unique abandoned metal structures along the trail really bring some variety to my Morgan Hill portrait sessions. That’s what drew Emily to my classic portrait session location.
And boy did she go all out for this Morgan Hill portrait session. She and Nick arrived in my favorite classic fall colors for portrait sessions—that beautiful maroon paired with some warm navy tones. It’s seriously the best. And tell me you have not seen a cuter, more beautiful maternity dress? Pinkblush has the best maternity dresses. The tear drop framing of the super cute belly. The half sleeves with scallops along the edge. The floor length flow of satin and lace. It’s perfect. Emily chose a pair of simple suede heels from Sam Edelman that gave her just a little bit of height next to her super tall husband who, by the way, is a total goofball. They are just the best.
The styling doesn’t stop there. Emily spent the afternoon with her friends at The Dry Bar at Santana Row getting her hair beautifully styled and make-up by Emma Peterson done for a one-of-a-kind show stopping Morgan Hill portrait session with her husband and baby-on-the-way. Those curls just fell so naturally and not one bit of make up was distracting. They were perfect.
Nick and Emily, I’m so grateful for you guys! It is an honor to get to watch this little human grow and arrive into this world with you! To be a part of this journey is truly a blessing for my heart and joy. You guys are going to rock as parents. Baby Bean doesn’t know how blessed she already is!
